SONGWRITING IN GARAGEBAND CAMP

Making your own recordings in Garageband is easier than you think! In this class you’ll learn all the basics of using Garageband on an Apple laptop or tablet by building templates that highlight popular song forms. We’ll experiment with musical ideas in a simple step-by-step process from setting up a project session to adding new tracks, recording and editing vocals, how to use electronic and MIDI instruments, and even applying plugin effects like reverb and EQ. We’ll write as a team and workshop lyric ideas, impactful topics and themes, how to create a strong melody, and the process of bringing all those elements together. You’ll leave having co-written 1 song as a group, at least 1 solo song of your own, and with a ton of momentum to keep you creating.
